Scholarly papers: 1st October 2016

Paper Formatting
Please submit your paper as a Word document (.doc or .docx) attached to an email (see below). Do not submit your paper as a PDF.
Use APA formatting guidelines with double-spaced 12pt TimesRoman font.
Do not include an abstract.
The first line of your first page should be your paper's title with initial CAPS for major words.
Please anonymise your paper:
- Do not include your name or those of your co-authors anywhere on the paper
- Do not include the name of your insititution or those of your co-authors anywhere on the paper
- If you self-cite yourself, which is generally not encouraged, treat it like any other citation and do not draw undue attention to it
Word limits:
- Scholarly papers: 1500 words
- Doctoral zone: 1500 words
- Teaching zone: 1000 words
The word limits exclude references, tables, diagrams, figures, or apendices. Pleae do not abuse these limits. We want shorter papers to encourage online and synchronous reading and discussion.
Video Formatting
Save your video to a public dropbox and send the link to us with the information described below.
Prepare your video as a .MP4, .MOV, or .M4V file.
Maximum file size is 500Gb; we will reduce the size for streaming on the conference site.
You may submit a standalone video or one that accompanies a paper.
We encourage innovative videos.
The maximum time length of videos is 15 minutes.
Alternative Submissions
We are open to alternative forms of submission. For example, you may wish to produce a narrated PowerPoint presentation, or give your presentation in a virtual world, or run a synchronous webchat. If size allows, please send us your submission as an email attachment. If that is not possible, please follow the video method using a dropbox.

How to Submit Your Paper

Include the following information in the body of your email:
- Submitter: Submitter's name, institution, and email address
- Authors: Name, institution, and email address of all authors (including the submitter) in the order that you would like the authorship to be recorded
- Title: Title of your paper
- Conference stream: Scholarly (EJWOP), Scholarly (non-EJWOP), Doctoral, or Teaching
- Word length: What is the total length of your paper (a) without references, tables etc., and (b) including everything
- Video: Please say whether or not you will be submitting a video to accompany your paper and what the nature of the video will be

How to Submit Your Video

- Submitter: Submitter's name, institution, and email address
- Authors: Name, institution, and email address of all authors (including the submitter) in the order that you would like the authorship to be recorded

- Video length and format
- Video: Please say whether or not your video is associated with a paper submission and, if so, which one
Important Note
By submitting your material to the conference, you thereby grant us permission to post it to the conference website.
